Matthew "Matt" Cardle (born in 1983)[citation needed] from Little Maplestead, Essex, is an English singer.
On 12 December 2010, he won the seventh series of the ITV show The X Factor winning a £1m recording contract to Syco Music owned by Sony Music Entertainment, finishing ahead of Rebecca Ferguson.
His cover of popular Biffy Clyro song "Many of Horror", renamed "When We Collide", was released immediately after winning the contest.
