一位來自英國的27歲粉刷匠 出生于1983年4月15日 在2010年秋天參加第七季X-Factor倫敦海選 參加海選之前 MattCardle一直為賓館粉刷房屋。單調乏味的生活迫使Matt放棄了的自己的工作 去為自己尋找更大的舞臺。
　　在參加海選接受采訪時他這樣說道：“一個27歲的成年人還和自己的父母住在一起并不是一件值得炫耀的事情。我一直都很喜歡唱歌，即使是在工作的時候，我也會唱給自己聽。每天粉刷房間讓我覺得生活很單調，這不是我想要的，我想我應該有更好的生活，所以去報名參加了海選，希望以此改變自己的生活�！薄≡趥惗貐⒓雍＿x時的Matt Cardle穿著普通：一頂帽子，格子衫，破舊的牛仔褲，和其他東西。Matt的帽子有些破的嚇人，他說有次鳥屎掉在上邊都沒有洗，因為他相信這會帶來好運。有次有人問他，你覺得自己最大的特點是什么，Matt居然回答“臭襯衫”，絕大部分時候，他都會戴漁夫帽，穿格子襯衫。
　　Matt的手表，據當事人講那表已經壞了兩年多了，手腕上的紋身Acappella意思是沒有樂器伴奏的歌曲，純以人聲唱的歌。
