Requiem For The Indifferent

2002年年初，馬可·杰生被萬世沉淪(After Forever)開除之后，為了作出融合古典/交響的搖滾金屬，成立了名為 Sahara Dust 的樂團(tuán)。
2002年年底，前悲傷淚痕（Trail of Tears)的主唱 Helena Michaelsen加入樂團(tuán)，但很快的主唱位置就被當(dāng)時(shí)杰生的女友 Simone Simons所取代。此時(shí)樂團(tuán)的其他成員還包括吉他手 Ad Sluijter、鼓手 Jeroen Simons、貝斯手 Yves Huts 和鍵盤手 Coen Janssen。之后樂團(tuán)改名為 Epica，團(tuán)名是來自幸運(yùn)之星（Kamelot）的知名專輯《Epica》。
樂團(tuán)之后尋找了一組合唱團(tuán)（由2男4女組成）和一組弦樂團(tuán)（3位小提琴手，兩位中提琴手，兩位大提琴手和一位低音提琴手）一起合作。樂團(tuán)在2003年以 Sahara Dust之名發(fā)行了一張2首歌的 demo《Cry for the Moon》，之后與 Transmission Records 簽約。
《Requiem For The Indifferent》是樂隊(duì)第5張專輯，將于3月9日發(fā)行。樂隊(duì)稱該專輯名指向末日，人類無法如鴕鳥般逃避現(xiàn)實(shí)，不同的宗教文化戰(zhàn)爭自然災(zāi)害經(jīng)濟(jì)危機(jī)造成的緊張氛圍正令一切走向失控...恍若末日序曲，但也許是新的契機(jī)。----
