2007年的跨廠牌雙CD精選大碟【Complete Clapton】收藏了艾力克萊普頓從1966年到2006年這40年間的搖滾力作，見識吉他之神穿透搖滾世代的不凡功力，從奶油樂團招牌名曲'I Feel Free'、'Sunshine Of Your Love'到盲目信仰樂團時期的搖滾經典'Presence Of The Lord'，從最動人的抒情搖滾金曲'Layla'、'Wonderful Tonight'到贏得葛萊美獎滿堂彩的肺腑之作'Tears In Heaven'、'Change The World'、'My Father’s Eyes'，從雷鬼之父巴布馬利的'I Shot The Sheriff'到巴布狄倫的'Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door'，從電影「金錢本色」主題曲'Lay Down Sally'到電影「軍火之王」插曲'Cocaine'，每一首都是經典中的經典。



超過40年的搖滾歷練，艾力克萊普頓贏得了18座葛萊美獎的喝采，他是史上唯一以3個樂團或歌手的身份入列「搖滾名人殿堂」的搖滾歌手，他在1960年代初期就與日后的吉他英雄Jimmy Page/吉米佩吉、日后變成齊柏林飛船樂團的大將、Jeff Beck/杰夫貝克在The Yardbirds樂團中過招，隨后轉進匯集了藍調搖滾豪杰的超級樂團John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers，然后再接連組成Cream/奶油樂團、Blind Faith/盲目信仰樂團等超級搖滾天團，還穿梭於披頭四、滾石合唱團、巴布狄倫、吉米罕醉克斯的專輯錄音或是現(xiàn)場演出。自1970年代起，艾力克萊普頓開始獨闖高手如云的搖滾叢林，陸續(xù)以'Layla'、'I Shot The Sheriff'、'Lay Down Sally'、'Wonderful Tonight'等暢銷單曲揚威樂壇。進入90年代后，他走過吸毒的幽谷，還有喪子的陰霾，以'Tears In Heaven'、'Change The World'兩度拿下葛萊美3項大獎，還以不插電演唱專輯『Unplugged』狂銷千萬張。跨越21世紀后，仍藉由與藍調國寶B.B. King、吉他傳奇J. J. Cale等藝人的專輯合作持續(xù)榮耀搖滾樂的歷史。
