　　故事發(fā)生在路易斯安那州的一個(gè)小鎮(zhèn)——Bon Temp。由于日本人發(fā)明的一種叫做“真血”（TruBlood）的人造合成血，吸血鬼們可以通過購買的方式獲得血液來維生，一夜之間從傳說中的怪物搖身變成了普通市民。雖然人類不再是吸血鬼的盤中餐，理論上兩者能夠和平共處共同生活，但是對于這些“走出棺材”的生物的理解仍有待加強(qiáng)。宗教領(lǐng)袖和政府官員選擇了他們的立場，但是在Bon Temp小鎮(zhèn)，審判還未開始。
