In the Reins

Iron & Wine 與Calexico聯(lián)袂合作灌錄唱片，無論從哪個角度來看，這都是Americana音樂圈一個蠻有意思的Crossover。前者是由Sam Beam化身而成的佛羅里達州Indie-Folk-Rock唱作人，而后者則是以Joey Burns及John Convertino為首的亞里桑拿州Tucson市折衷派Alternative Country樂團。



為唱片揭開序幕是He Lays In The Reins這首溫婉動人而意境化的Country Rock曲目，歌曲的驚艷是來自Tucson Flamenco樂圈的Salvador Duran作西班牙語演唱。Sam筆下的曲調仍是那么美麗得叫人怦然心動，在Prison On Route在柔揚的Pedal Steel結他與清爽的結他和弦下，實在美好抒情得沒話說。而History Of Lovers這首教人怡然自得的鄉(xiāng)謠Soft Rock小品，更委實不禁叫人聽得心情愉快。



然而在Calexico主理下，他們的歌曲仍是灌注了濃濃的電影感。Red Dust的藍調搖滾神韻，宛如一段荒漠的旅程，還有著滄涼的口琴伴奏。16, Maybe Less以Pedal Steel結他奏出公路電影的氛圍，Moody而淡然。Burn That Broken Bed凝聚著一股荒漠氛圍，Sam的主唱與凄美的爵士小號吹奏，交織出千絲萬柳的苦澀情感。最末的Lo-Fi Country-Folk小品Dead Man's Will，漫不經心地幽幽的唱著奏著，在暗啞而乾澀的音色下，就好比聽著這群音樂好友在醉酒當歌。
