Trilla

Rick Ross原名William Roberts，在邁阿密北郊貧困的小城Carol City長大。由于受到魯瑟·坎貝爾（Luther Campbell）和“臭名昭著大先生”（the Notorious B.I.G）等老牌說唱歌手的影響，William Roberts在上世紀90年代中期組建了說唱組合the Carol City Cartel，開始自己創(chuàng)作歌曲。同時，他還把自己的藝名改為Rick Ross。（注：Rick Ross是上世紀八，九十年代美國洛杉磯最大的毒梟之一）在加入Slip-N-Side Records之前，Rick Ross曾在孟菲斯說唱組合Eightball & MJG的前廠牌Suave House Records短暫停留。從2000年初開始，Rick Ross開始和同屬Slip-N-Side Records的Trick Daddy一起巡演并在Slip-N-Side Records出版的多張專輯中客串演唱。這使得Rick Ross開始在當?shù)匦∮忻麣�。直�?006年，Rick Ross才發(fā)行了他的首支個人單曲《Hustlin'》。在《Hustlin'》正式發(fā)行之后，一場簽約大戰(zhàn)拉開了序幕，包括Bad Boy公司CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs和The Inc. 公司（原名Murder Inc.）總裁Irv Gotti都搶著要和Rick Ross簽約。但是最終，Def Jam老總Jay-Z以一張數(shù)百萬美元的合約將Rick Ross招致麾下。
